My art
In my painting I strive to discover new lands – beautiful in order to bring salvation. In a game with time – I wish to break the placenta which has enveloped us and with my brushes I make small slits to something beyond.
For this reason my art is always on a journey. Not always my works are pre-decided, thought out or sought. Sometimes things are revealed, like a mythical creature that needs to be formed and to find an environment to thrive. My paintings want to connect even deeper with the places that touched me and with the souls who reflected them.
I always work within music. When drawing I clear the drawers of my soul, I’m arranging, I’m airing, I’m looking for a proper place to put my heart’s treasures. For years, I’ve believed that acrylic is the material that can best meet my persistent search and momentary structures of drawings in a common composition. I love it’s glossy, at moments almost transparent effect.
Over the years, my search for shapes has become less and less improvisational. I start from a basic idea of what I want the painting to be, and then let it come alive on the canvas. Painting is my prayer, and confession, recognition and struggle, overcoming myself in meeting myself.
The world is also a painting, I’m sure. A string of pictures, meetings of pictures, their embraces, their intersections or non-intersected lines on the way to the perfect image of where we can reside. These paintings shelter everything – because they are music. Tons of music and miles of melodic silence that speaks. And it says something about the soul of the other so that we can meet each other again.
